Bonaire announces lineup for Scuba Diving Magazine Week
Scuba Diving Magazine Week set for July 7-14, 2007 as part of Bonaire Dive Into Summer 2007
Kralendijk, Bonaire (June 27, 2007) – Tourism Corporation Bonaire is pleased to announce the lineup of activities for Scuba Diving Magazine Week, taking place July 7-14 as part of Bonaire Dive Into Summer 2007. Participants receive a free “Reef Fish in a Pocket” book by Ned Deloach & Paul Humann, a chance to win a “Caribbean REEF Fish ID” book, and prizes from Divegear, including clothing, accessories, swimwear and rashguards. All events during Scuba Diving Magazine Week are free to anyone wishing to participate.
MONDAY, JULY 9
Visitors are invited to join Scuba Diving magazine staffers at Captain Don’s Habitat during their weekly Meet the Captain party from 6-7 pm for a chance to win prizes.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 11
Visitors are invited to participate in a fish ID dive with Bonaire’s resident naturalist Jerry Ligon, Scuba Diving magazine’s executive editor Keith Phillips and STINAPA volunteers. Participants should arrive at Bonaire Dive and Adventure (adjacent to Sand Dollar Condominiums) at 8:30am with their C-cards. After the dive there will be a fish quiz with prizes.
FRIDAY, JULY 13
Don’t miss Scuba Diving’s Grand Finale Party at Buddy Dive’s Rum Punch Happy Hour from 5:30-7:30pm. Meet other divers, participate in fish ID games and Bonaire trivia and win prizes!
Scuba Diving magazine is also sponsoring a free summer-long photo contest for all visitors of Bonaire between June 1 and September 30. Compete for prizes by uploading the best Bonaire photos at www.BonaireDiveIntoSummer.com/photocontest. Winners in three categories (wide angle, macro, topside) will be announced in October.
Scuba Diving Magazine Week is part of Bonaire Dive Into Summer 2007, a summer-long, island-wide promotion featuring four months of activities and a FREE coupon book full of discounts for restaurants, hotels, activities, car rentals and more, available to all visitors of the island June 1 through September 30.
Events scheduled to take place later this summer include the 3rd Annual Pro Kids Windsurfing Competition August 1-5, Love Our Planet Week September 15-22 and Bonaire’s signature event, A Taste of Bonaire, taking place July 8, August 5 and September 9.
