Grand Old House hosts first annual rum festival on Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (August 2005) - This October Grand Old House, one of Grand Cayman’s finest dining establishments for nearly three decades, will host the First Annual Grand Old House Rum Festival.
Commencing October 13, the three-day event features tasting and dining with the world’s top rum producers and blenders, a Cuban art presentation, and a hole-in-one golf tournament with a US$50,000 prize. One of the weekend’s highlights includes the Saturday night rum-infused market buffet followed by salsa and meringue dancing under the stars at one of the most extraordinary locations in the Caribbean.
Organized by the Slow Food Convivium, the Grand Old House Rum Festival features samplings, workshops with rum educators, and cooking classes, for which reservations are required. Admissions range from $90 to $175 depending on the event or workshop, and proceeds benefit the Cayman Islands National Recovery Funds and the Cayman AIDS Foundation.
