Basseterre, St. Kitts (December 7, 2004) - Following its first full year of operation the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and The Royal Beach Casino received the prestigious Hotel of the Year award from the St. Kitts and Nevis Ministry of Tourism. Concluding Tourism Week 2004, the ministry also awarded doorman Arbon Arthurton, who works at the resort, with the Customer Service Agent of the Year award.
The St. Kitts Marriott Resort and The Royal Beach Casino opened in early 2003 as St. Kitts’ first full-service resort. In 2004 the resort completed the two-year renovation of the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club and opened the 15,000-square-foot Emerald Mist Spa, both key to the success of the past year.
