St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles (December 19, 2005) – This winter Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino lures guests out of the snow and down to Dutch St. Maarten in the Caribbean with new property improvements.
Located on 10 acres, the beachfront resort’s 537 rooms all feature new 27-inch color televisions, a new TV system installed with Pay Per View (to be completed by February 2006), video games, and interactive check-out/folio views. All rooms have also received new coffee makers and new pillowtop mattresses to ensure guests truly enjoy their downtime.
A new Internet Bar in the Sky Tower lobby and a new Business Center on the first floor of the Ocean Terrace open in mid-January. The Business Center will offer four work stations, a fax machine, and a printer. Renovations in the Conference Center include new carpets, fans, and lighting, and in the Pre-Function area, new wall coverings, flooring, and air conditioning. The Royal Pavillion rooms at meeting area level and Sky Tower lobby have also been completely upgraded.
In addition to Sonesta Maho Beach Resort’s 25,000 square feet of meeting space, the resort features a casino and adjacent showroom, Theatre Royale, a nightclub, two outdoor pools, a beach, three restaurants, a promenade of 40 boutiques and restaurants, four tennis courts, and the full service Good Life Spa and fitness center. Recent property improvements also include new landscaping and stone walkways and new uniforms for the resort’s 150 employees.
