Direct flights between Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and London’s Gatwick airport begin March 2007
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad (November 20, 2006) – Starting March 28, 2007, Caribbean Airlines will offer direct flights between Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and London’s Gatwick airport.
This direct flight aboard a Boeing 777, part of a code-share agreement between Caribbean Airlines and British Airways, will be offered every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. On all other days, a seamless connecting service between Port-of-Spain and London can be booked with Caribbean Airlines. The current schedule to Heathrow airport continues daily until March 27, 2007.
“Caribbean Airlines is delighted to partner with the prestigious world-class carrier, British Airways, to service this important route from Port-of-Spain to London,” said Peter Davies, chief executive officer of Caribbean Airlines. “From our passengers’ point of view, our customers will enjoy increased consistency and a higher quality of service at competitive ticket prices.”
The enhanced on-board service includes the Club World seat that extends into a flat bed, wider seats and more legroom in World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and the full entertainment facilities offered in World Traveller (economy).
Additionally, Caribbean Airlines’ customers will be able to redeem frequent flyer rewards on the London flights. Caribbean Airlines is working to extend this programme to the wider British Airways’ global network, targeted for later in 2007.
Caribbean Airlines, which replaces BWIA West Indies Airways, launches on January 1, 2007 and will accommodate all passengers currently booked on BWIA.
