Palm Beach, Aruba (March 22, 2005) - The Wyndham Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino has been recognized for excellence in the 2005 Condé Nast Traveler Gold List, which lists the premier resort properties around the globe, based on reader feedback on quality of accommodations, services, and amenities.
More than 20,000 Condé Nast Traveler subscribers voted in this year’s poll, from which the Gold List pulled the finest hotels, resorts, and cruise lines. Hotel properties were rated on accommodations, service, food, location, design, and activities. Out of the four hotel properties on the island included on the 2005 list, the Wyndham Aruba Resort ranked first for both service and activities and second overall, with a less than one per cent difference from the top position.
One of only four hotels in Aruba to boast the AAA Four Diamond rating, the Wyndham Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino is located on the magnificent white sands of Palm Beach, just three miles from downtown. The resort’s 481 guest rooms offer private balconies and ocean views. Additional amenities include a pool with pool concierge service, a fitness center with spa services, tennis, watersports, nearby championship golf, and high-speed Internet access in all guest rooms and meeting spaces. The Wyndham Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino is also home to the Cuban-style revue, Havana Tropical, the only live dinner show on the island.
In spring 2004 the property unveiled the 3,500-square-foot Intermezzo Day Spa, the largest on the island of Aruba, featuring a menu of pampering signature treatments inspired by the resort’s Caribbean setting. Facilities include seven treatment rooms, a full-service beauty salon, a secluded tranquility garden with Jacuzzi, and a private cabana allowing guests to enjoy spa treatments alfresco. In December 2004 the resort opened a new 10,000-square-foot state-of-the-art ballroom, offering 24,000 square feet of event space, the largest amount of meeting and convention space under one roof on the island.
“This recognition is truly a credit to the friendly disposition of our staff and level of service they provide, along with the property enhancements that we’ve made this past year as we continue to distinguish the Wyndham Aruba as the leading resort on the island,” says Rob Smith, general manager of the Wyndham Aruba Resort.
