New Barbados resort offers something for everyone

Hilton Barbados promises to offer perfect combination of excitement and relaxation for the ideal vacation getaway.

Caribbean Information Center - Pressroom

Miami, Florida (February 11, 2005) - The new five-star Hilton Barbados opens in May 2005. With its prime location, a variety of accommodations, pool complex, and kids club, this $110-million investment promises the perfect combination of excitement and relaxation for the ideal getaway.

Located on the lush tropical peninsula of Needham’s Point, the Hilton Barbados sits on the site of the old Barbados Hilton, guarded by historic Fort Charles. Surrounded by powdery white, soft sand beaches and pristine blue waters, the property boasts 350 guestrooms, including 77 Executive Floor rooms and 33 luxury suites, affording guests spectacular ocean views from their own private balcony. Guests staying on the Executive Floor enjoy exclusive check-in and check-out, and access to the Executive Lounge, which overlooks Carlisle Bay and offers complimentary breakfast, refreshments, and hors d’oeuvres throughout the day.

Just five minutes from bustling Bridgetown and 20 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport, the secluded location of Hilton Barbados is still close to all that Barbados has to offer in dining, shopping, and entertainment. Because of its key position, the hotel is the perfect base to savor not only the hotel’s range of activities and facilities, but also the tropical magic of the beautiful island, which measures a mere 21 miles long and 12 miles wide.

Apart from its glorious beach, the hotel offers a sprawling pool complex with whirlpool, water activity center, floodlit tennis courts, Kidz Paradise Club, and a fitness center with treatment rooms overlooking the Bridgetown Bay. A multitude of activities are within easy reach, including superb water sports, golf, horseback riding, fishing, sailing, sightseeing, and more.

After a day of exciting activity or simple relaxation, guests at the Hilton Barbados have the option of dining at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant Careenage Bar and Grille, at the casual Lighthouse Terrace, or the Water’s Edge beach bar.

Families can take advantage of the resort’s VIC (Very Important Children) Program. Children under the age of five receive complimentary meals and children between the ages of five and 12 receive free breakfasts plus a 50 per cent discount on other meals when dining with an adult. Children stay free when sharing a room with their parents or grandparents, and a four-hour complimentary babysitting service is included on a minimum three-nights stay.

"This hotel will offer something for everyone on a year-round basis. As well as our superb choice of facilities for all leisure and business guests, no other property on Barbados is so ideally located to the airport, capital, and wonderful island attractions," says Marilyn Soper, general manager of the Hilton Barbados.
