Stay cool as a cucumber in The Bahamas. Senses Spa at Westin Our Lucaya Beach Resort on Grand Bahama Island launches summer-inspired facials, pedicures, and manicures.
Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas (May 5, 2005) - With summer almost here, Senses Spa is celebrating with new treatments designed to refresh Bahamas vacationers as the temperatures rise. Located at The Westin at Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort on Grand Bahama Island, the spa’s sun-inspired treatments are available as of June 15.
Guests can rejuvenate their skin with the new Cool as a Cucumber facial, ideal for sunburned or sensitive skin. The 50-minute treatment provides oxygenation with a soothing recipe of cucumber, known for its effectiveness in skin healing, and parsley, which acts as a softener and toner, mixed with cucumber juice. This $90 facial is available through mid-September.
The new Senses Solar Manicure and Pedicure feature a naturally light, fragrant blend of jojoba oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E, designed to keep skin and nails hydrated and moisturized while basking in the sun. The $40 Solar Manicure lasts for 45 minutes and the $45 Solar Pedicure lasts 30 minutes.
For a different kind of foot pampering, Senses Spa offers the new Athletic Pedicure. Whether you’ve just walked all 7.5 acres of Our Lucaya’s white sandy beach or exercised in one of the Westin workout guestrooms, the revitalizing 45-minute treatment guarantees to perk up even the most overtaxed soles. The $50 Athletic Pedicure offers a double dose of refreshment with a cooling massage gel complimented by a gentle exfoliation and rehydration.
The 25,000-square-foot Senses Spa features a state-of-the-art fitness center and full-service beauty salon. Spa treatments use ingredients indigenous to Grand Bahama Island and the surrounding sea, including white sage, bay geranium, and even Bahamian rum - a favorite island healer. The spa also offers submerged massages, rain massages, and hydro baths in seaweed, sea salt or algae. The fitness center provides guests with strength training equipment including treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines, and spinning V bikes. Personal trainers are also available to coordinate fitness programs.
The 372-acre, 1,260-room Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort includes the sister hotels, Westin and Sheraton, and features two 18-hole golf courses, 14 restaurants and lounges, a 35,000-square-foot casino, four premier tennis courts, Camp Lucaya children’s center, spa and fitness center, and four oceanfront swimming pools.
