Award-winning Turks and Caicos resort expands

Grace Bay Club adds luxury condo units, spa and fitness centre, business centre, oceanfront pool, and new restaurants

Turks and Caicos (December 13, 2004) – The award-winning Grace Bay Club in the Turks and Caicos will soon cater to both vacationers and homeowners. Located on the island of Providenciales, the resort has commenced a $35-million multi-stage expansion plan, which includes the addition of 38 ultra-luxury condominium units to be called The Villas at Grace Bay Club.

The expansion plan for this integrated-resort concept includes a new 4,000-square-foot European spa and state-of-the-art fitness center to replace the existing spa, a dramatic new oceanfront pool, a new reception and entry lobby with boutique, an expansion of the gourmet oceanfront Anacaona restaurant with the hip Lounge serving Caribbean-infused tapas dishes and a new alfresco grill and pool bar, a new fully equipped business center, and a multi-function conference room. The resort has appointed Nikheel Advani, formerly of Singapore’s Raffles Hotel and New York’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel, to manage the resort and renovations, which are slated for completion in 2005.

Noted for its location on world-renowned Grace Bay Beach - voted most romantic beach in the world by Caribbean Travel and Life and best beach in the world by Condé Nast - the Grace Bay Club itself has also received a number of accolades over the past few years. These include World’s Best Awards by Travel + Leisure, August 2004; Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List, January 2004; Best of the Caribbean 2004 by Andrew Harper Collection; Top International Hotels, Resorts & Spas by Zagat, 2004; Favorite Place’s by Departures Magazine, June 2003; and Robb Report’s Best of the Best, Caribbean, June 2003.

Prices for the new condominium units range from $850,000 to $1,650,000 for 2,100- to 3,700-square-foot two- and three-bedroom villas and $1,850,000 to $2,250,000 for full-floor penthouse units with panoramic ocean views. Completion of the 14 two-bedroom villas, 20 three-bedroom villas, and four penthouse three-bedroom villas is set for fall 2005.
