Trinidad & Tobago welcomes new Delta Air Lines service
Non-stop service from Atlanta to Trinidad begins December 9 and non-stop service from Atlanta to Tobago begins February 17
Port of Spain, Trinidad (November 2006) – Travelling from the land of peaches and southern hospitality to the island known for its historic rainforest, world-class diving and eclectic culture is now easier than ever. On December 9, 2006 Delta Air Lines launches new non-stop service from Atlanta, Georgia to Port of Spain, Trinidad, and on February 17, 2007 they’ll launch non-stop service from Atlanta to Tobago.
In time for the peak travel season and the annual Carnival festival, Delta will offer direct service from the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta to Piarco International Airport in Trinidad. Flight 319 will depart Atlanta four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday) at 2:50pm and arrive in Port of Spain at 8:30pm. The return flight 322 will depart Port of Spain four times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) at 9:05am and arrive in Atlanta at 1:15pm. The airline will also offer travellers direct service from the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta to Crown Point International Airport in Tobago, once a week, departing Atlanta on Saturdays and returning on Sunday mornings.
“This is big news for Trinidad & Tobago. The addition of this flight allows us to introduce the business appeal, culture and charisma of Trinidad to a huge segment of business and leisure travellers. It will also allow Tobago to be connected to the North American leisure traveller. We are pleased that our efforts to streamline travel to our island nation have resulted in this important and convenient Delta flight,” said Dr James Hepple, president of the Tourism and Development Company of Trinidad & Tobago. “Delta has so many excellent connections throughout the southeastern United States such as Birmingham, Memphis and Orlando, that we expect to see a significant increase of arrivals to the destination from this region with this new service.”
