SuperClubs resort in Jamaica reopens after US$20 million expansion and renovation
Breezes Runaway Bay, featuring new rooms, suites, swimming pools, spa and restaurants, set to welcome guests December 15, 2006
Hollywood, Florida, USA (November 27, 2006) – SuperClubs caps 30 years in the Caribbean hospitality industry this year with the reopening of Breezes Runaway Bay, Jamaica, on December 15, 2006. The resort will once again open its doors after a vigorous six-month US$20 million renovation that will add 15 per cent more rooms and suites, and a complete overhaul of existing accommodations.
Among the many upgrades, the most ambitious is the brand new low-rise room block, constructed on the western beach of this 27-acre property, and introducing 30 oceanfront rooms and suites, including seven one-bedroom suites and eight verandah suites with private plunge pools. In addition, on the eastern courtyard, 30 garden-view rooms will be expanded and transformed into 40 verandah suites, each boasting private plunge pools.
Existing guest rooms – far from being neglected – are being spruced up with new mahogany furnishings, LCD televisions and high-speed wireless Internet access. Bathrooms will also sport a fresh new look, with new countertops and polished hardware and faucets.
Singles, couples and families with teenagers can look forward to exciting new dining experiences with the debut of two of SuperClubs’ signature restaurants. At the casually elegant Munasan, a sushi bar compliments Teppanyaki stations, where chefs cook dinners to order. Diners who loathe to venture too far from the beach might opt for Reggae Café, serving delicious Jamaican specialties for lunch and dinner. These restaurants round out Breezes’ current dining options, including Italian fine dining, a continental buffet restaurant and the Starlight Grill.
Water lovers will delight in the addition of two new freshwater swimming pools, supplementing the existing Olympic-size main pool. One new pool will service the new oceanfront room block, while the second will be built along the eastern shore, with a swim-up bar and misting pool. Additionally, a new, easily accessible watersports building offers guests the latest in scuba and Nitrox equipment, which dive enthusiasts can test on the famed Canyon Wall, located just beyond the beach.
Breezes will be revving up romance for honeymooners, providing couples with two exotic locales to tie the knot. A beachside wedding gazebo takes advantage of a tranquil seaside setting, while a garden gazebo nestles amongst aromatic tropical foliage.
Meanwhile, a revamped full-service spa will be added and re-branded as part of a new signature line of Blue Mahoe Spas at SuperClubs Resorts, featuring such pampering as a three-hour spa package, which includes four enticing treatments: Island Coffee Mint Glo, Tropical Body Mousse, 60-minute Bamboo Massage and Tropical Fruit Facial ($380 per person). An upgraded fitness centre completes Breezes’ health and wellness amenities.
Greeting guests upon their arrival is an expanded vibrant lobby with skylights, a welcoming layout, and sweeping views of the Caribbean. As always, guests can count on the warm hospitality and versatility of a Breezes resort, where vacationers can relax, golf at the resort’s 18-hole PGA championship course, or sing favourite tunes alongside the new piano bar.
