American Airlines to begin New York–St Kitts & Nevis service
Non-stop flights between JFK and St Kitts & Nevis to start in November
New York, New York, USA (May 7, 2007) – American Airlines, already the largest US airline flying out of New York to the Caribbean, will further enhance its schedule to the region this fall when it begins convenient non-stop service from New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to St Kitts & Nevis.
American will offer the only non-stop service currently scheduled between the New York area and St Kitts & Nevis, a twin-island paradise located just east of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The twice-weekly service – on Wednesdays and Sundays – will start November 18 with a Boeing 757 aircraft configured with 22 seats in first class and 166 seats in the main cabin.
Effective November 18, flight #2051 will depart JFK on Wednesdays and Sundays at 10:45am and arrive in St Kitts & Nevis at 3:55pm. The return flight #2052 will depart St Kitts & Nevis on Wednesdays and Sundays at 5:05pm and arrive in New York at 8:30pm.
“Earlier this year we made it clear that American Airlines intends to be the preferred airline in New York, and our new non-stop service to St Kitts & Nevis is part of that commitment,” said Chuck Imhof, American’s vice-president of passenger sales – greater New York. “From New York, travellers on American can expect convenient flights to lots of destinations, competitive fares, and in the case of JFK, a sparkling new state-of-the-art terminal. We now look forward to showing residents of the Tri-State area what a wonderful addition St Kitts & Nevis is to our schedule.”
“We are delighted that American Airlines will operate non-stop service from New York to St Kitts & Nevis,” said Robert Kelly, director-USA, St Kitts Tourism Authority. “We offer visitors unspoiled beauty, first-world hospitality and excellent shopping, resorts and facilities – all in an uncrowded environment. And it’s just a short flight from New York on American. St Kitts & Nevis is an ideal destination for a quick getaway or an extended vacation.”
