Air Jamaica launches non-stop service between New York and St Lucia in February 2006
(December 23, 2005) – On February 23, 2006, Air Jamaica launches the non-stop Lovebird A320 air service between New York’s JFK International Airport and St Lucia.
The JM092 will operate non-stop on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, departing New York at 7am and arriving in St Lucia at 12:35pm. On the return leg, JM093 will depart St. Lucia at 6:35pm and arrive in New York at 10:15pm.
“This will be the first non-stop service from New York to St Lucia and Air Jamaica is proud to give the Caribbean another first,” says O.K. Melhado, chairman of Air Jamaica. “We look forward to once again offering our Lovebird hospitality to the island and people of St Lucia, and are confident Air Jamaica’s return will boost tourist and other traffic to the island.”
“New York has always been an important gateway for St Lucia,” says Costella Michel, chairman of the St Lucia Tourist Board. “The St Lucia Tourist Board looks forward to working with Air Jamaica on joint promotional activity in order to ensure the success of this direct service to St Lucia.”
