Bahamas resort no longer accepting Spring Break reservations from students

The Westin and Sheraton Grand Bahama Island make change to preserve family-friendly atmosphere and offers 20 per cent savings to families

Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas (September 6, 2006) – Beginning in 2007, The Westin and Sheraton Grand Bahama Island Our Lucaya Resort will no longer accept spring break reservations from students and groups under the age of 21. The new restriction will cover bookings during the months of March and April.

“Our top priority has always been and continues to be the comfort and convenience of our guests,” said Ty Brassie, director of sales and marketing for the resort. “We’ve decided to forgo this segment of business in order to preserve the family-friendly environment that Our Lucaya is known for.”

The Sheraton Grand Bahama Island is rewarding families who visit this winter or spring with Sunny Savings of 20 per cent off regular room rates. Sunny rates start at $279.35 (based on double occupancy) and are available for bookings from September 1, 2006, through February 15, 2007, on travel from December 1, 2006, through April 30, 2007, subject to availability. Blackout dates apply.

The Westin and Sheraton Grand Bahama Island was chosen by the editors of CHILD Magazine as the #3 Most Family Friendly Caribbean Resort in 2005.

For reservations, call (866) 837-4186 and request rate code CARIBE. For more information see their accommodation listing under Grand Bahama at www.caribbean.com.
