USVI hotels offer special rates for Rock de Tempo concert
Room rates start as low as $108 per night
St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (May 8, 2007) – In support of Rock de Tempo, a massive weekend concert to be held on June 9 on St Thomas, the US Virgin Islands Department of Tourism has announced special Rock de Tempo rates at participating properties throughout the island for residents of the Caribbean who are attending the concert.
Hotel rates are per night, based on double occupancy and are exclusive of tax and service fees. Participating properties include the following:
• Holiday Inn Windward Passage – rates start at $108, including continental breakfast
• Best Western Carib Beach – rates start at $109
• Bolongo Bay Beach Resort – rates start at $125
• Secret Harbour – rates start at $127
• Best Western Emerald Beach – rates start at $139
• Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort – rates start at $164
• Wyndham Sugar Bay – rates start at $170

Rock de Tempo (gottempo.com) is a Caribbean-inspired, music-filled event featuring international artists such as Shaggy, Rayvon, Maxi Priest, Shurwayne Winchester and Traffik, Tessanne Chin and Etana. Local talent includes The Rising Stars Youth Steel Orchestra, Pyour Passion and Cool Session.
Tickets are $35 from now until May 12; $25 with student ID; and $40 at the door. Consumers can purchase tickets in St Croix at Alliance Clothing, Essentric Shoe Boutique, Hilarie’s Beauty Spot, Innovative Business Office, LaReine Chicken Shack, Riddims, The Sand Bar, Urban Threadz and the UVI Bookstore. In St Thomas, tickets can be purchased at the Reichhold Center for the Arts, Essentric Shoe Store, Modern Music, Parrot Fish Records, Smith’s Ferry, Urban Threadz, the UVI Bookstore and VI Bridal and Tuxedo. Tickets can also be purchased at The Connections in St John.
As a United States Territory, the US Virgin Islands does not require proof of citizenship from US citizens arriving from Puerto Rico or the US mainland. Entry requirements for non-US citizens are the same as for entering the United States from any foreign destination. Upon departure, a passport is required for all but US citizens.
