History
Curtain Bluff has spent the last 50 years getting it right.
In 1960 Howard Hulford realized his dream and opened a small resort near Old Road, Antigua, on a rocky bluff separating two extraordinary beaches. From the beginning it was a sanctuary for family and friends and, although Curtain Bluff has grown over the years, it has lost none of its intimacy and charm. Still family owned and operated, it welcomes back loyal guests year after year.
72 rooms and suites run along the Atlantic "surf" beach and up the rocky bluff. All have gaze-all-day views, and either open directly on to the sand or are just a few steps from it. Breakfast and dinner are served in the main restaurant on a tiled courtyard shaded by a spreading tamarind tree; lunch, in the beach restaurant on the Caribbean -swimming" beach. An intimate, tranquil spa sits amid gardens, feet from the sea.
About Antigua
From the tropical forests and mangrove wetlands, to natural coral reefs and exotic wildlife, Antigua offers a wealth of vacation adventures, on land and at sea. There are many historical sites to visit, including restored forts dating back to the 1700s, intact stone windmills from the sugar plantation era and the old dockyard where the British naval hero, Admiral Lord Nelson, once barked his orders and equipped his Royal Navy frigates. Curtain Bluff can organize guided tours of Antigua's historical sites, rainforest areas and beaches. Jeep rentals are available.
