Christian Thornton - Master glass artists arrives June 9 to July 6, 2011
PRESS RELEASE - 2011
USVI (July 16, 2011) - To celebrate and make the best of Maho's last year, we are planning events which feature past managers, artists, performers, professionals, environmentalists and others who have been significant in the creation of our unique resort.
The first of these special events is hosting Christian Thornton one last time as a visiting artist. Christian is responsible for pioneering Maho's glass studio into an example of how fine art glass objects can be made from waste glass bottles. He assisted us in making our operations safe and more energy efficient. Most of all he created extraordinary art from waste glass and raised the bar for our staff artists and other visiting artists. Christian's work sells for many thousands of dollars and is in museum and private collections worldwide. In past years his work at Maho has sold before it even cools. Christian's visit is something special and we are so excited to see what he has in store.
We would love for you to be here and experience these events in the coming year and will update you as they are confirmed.
