Artists showcased in Caribbean Travel and Life magazine
Press Release 2012
USVI (August 1, 2012) - If you have not seen the August/September issue of Caribbean Travel & Life, you must check it out. Several of Maho's beloved artists are shown doing what they do best: Turning Trash into Treasure. There is a nice two-page spread that showcases their expertise in each craft. There is glass blowing, batik painting, pottery making, water-color painting and a tie-dye/wine tasting class.
If you would like to participate in any of these or just watch in amazement, please feel free on your next visit to St. John. We offer classes in each art and have free demos throughout most of the year. Well, at least for another 9 months. Unfortunately, Maho Bay Camps will close May 2013, with the ending of our long term land lease. But, have no worries, we have plans to move the Recycled Arts Program to Concordia Eco-Resort.
Whether you have already visited Concordia Eco-Resort or not, hopefully you have seen us interviewed recently on ABC's Live Well Network. In May of this year, the Live Well Film Crew was on St. John filming in the Virgin Islands National Park as part of a series they are doing to document all 58 U.S. National Parks.
Concordia was thrilled to host the crew for the time they were filming on St. John. The result of their work is a fantastic 1/2 hour long video about the number and variety of opportunities the VINP provides the visitor to St John to explore the Woods and Water and the Human History of this special Island. Included are some beautiful shots of Concordia, Salt Pond Bay and Ram Head.
