Andros, Bahamas (October 23, 2012) - October 17th finally arrived and we once again opened our doors for another great season.
We are going to be entering into our 53rd year and we are still having fun. The dive staff has been eagerly awaiting getting back in the water. Our fishing guides have been itching to go out the flats. And our chefs have been dying to try some new menu ideas.
Dive boats
Small Hope Bay Lodge has been diving the third largest barrier reef for over 50 years now. With so much experience and such close proximity to some of the most diverse dive sites in the world, we take our diving very seriously. So this year we took the opportunity to not only improve our dive boats but add another boat to our fleet.
Our new boat is a 24- foot triple pontoon dive boat. Our staff has been working hard to get a shade on it make sure it is ready for its maiden voyage to the Landing Strip, our new plane wreck dive site. The boat is at the moment nameless but if you think you have an idea or two for the new name go to our Facebook page and leave your suggestions.

Improvements
In addition to the improvements to our dive boats we have been having a great time fixing up other areas too!
We love being located right on the beach and we often enjoy our lunch and dinner on our outdoor patio. So?we decided to make the patio a little bigger, added planters for our beautiful, native plants and added more chairs to enjoy the breathtaking view.
We made some changes to our Games Room too. We added new tile, we repainted our kiddie castle and added some new games, crafts and toys for the kids. Divers can trust our great babysitters to show their kids a great time in the Games Room and along both our beaches while parents enjoy their dives.
New dive boats, newly expanded patio and a great Games Room. What more could you ask for?
